So glad we didn't get the snow!

It really changes the upcoming weekend! With the lack of snow, buyers are more willing to get out and view properties, and they can actually see what they could be buying!

The market has started to become more brisk. Houses are selling a little faster, as the spring market approaches, and there has been more competition in the past week. The prices are starting to creep up, but I do not anticipate the crazy upswing that we had last spring and in the early summer.

Tony and I went to a workshop this morning held by Genworth Financial, who is a private corporation that insures high ratio mortgages for lenders. It was interesting, lots of statistics, and looking at the past, and then forecasting the future, building starts and trends etc. The two points the Regional Risk Manager stressed are:

1. The values of real estate will continue to rise over the years, and,

2. the volume of business in trading of real estate will not suffer.

Meaning that we will see continued growth in building starts, the resale market will march on as it has, and investing in real estate is still a very viable option and probably will out perform many other investment vehicles for a while.

That is good the hear!

Please click on the buttons to see the newest listings on the market in the past week. There are some semi-detached homes on the market selling for less that some newer freehold town houses. We always have great houses for sale, here in Halton Hills!

328 Maple Avenue in Georgetown's Park area is a neat home. I showed it yesterday. It is an older home that has been updated, renovated, and added on to. The outside is very interesting with the huge covered front verada and carport that was added on. It is very gracious looking ind certainly adds to the living space in the warmer months. You are a fair way back from the road, so it would be a private place to sit and watch the world go by. The master bedroom and en suite bath addition is great, large, and modern, but as with the rest of the house, it is about 95% complete. There are a lot of finishing that would need to be done on this home, like painting trim, adding baseboards, the odd window, sprucing stuff up, but at the price it is listed at, and the location, it could be worth it for the right buyer! Asking $850,000.00.

40 Bowman Street in Georgetown South is a stunning home. Located on one of the premiere streets, this Double Oak home backs onto greenbelt and has a beautifully landscaped pie shapes lot with a free form pool and fabulous curb appeal! Meticulously cared for, with high end finishes, 9 foot ceilings, walkout finished basement, and private en suite bathrooms for each of the bedrooms, there is nothing to do here but move in and enjoy yourself! Please click on the photo below to see the listing information and all the pictures. Asking $1,379,900.00

Tony and I are looking forward to the spring market! What a relief for him that I am back up and running after my two knee replacements! I can finally keep up with him again, and we are truly excited to work as a team to help you find your new home in Halton Hills! Please do not hesitate to ask any questions, we are here for you!
